Virginie was seen laughing as Niels helpfully kneeled down to tie up her shoes. Her awkward mishap gathered plenty of attention as the moment happened on the red carpet in front of the waiting paparazzi. Despite her blunder, the actress stunned in a black bardot dress which clung on to her sensational physique.
The blonde beauty wore her hair in an elegant up ’do and completed her look with silver dangling earrings.
She also showcased her radiant complexion while sporting natural make-up.
More pictures showed the actress and Niels putting on a loved-up display as they struggled to keep their hands off each other.
Niels proudly held on to his girlfriend’s face as the pair locked lips in front of the cameras.
The duo were later seen mingling with their co-stars Justine Triet, Adele Exarchopoulos and Gaspard Ulliel.
The co-stars seemed in high spirits in various pictures taken on the red carpet.
Their perky moods may be down to their film Sibyl being up for seven nominations at the annual festival.
Within the movie, Virginie takes on the lead role as Sibyl, a psychotherapist who becomes obsessed with a troubled patient.
Elsewhere at the star-studded event this week, model Meredith Mickelson, 19, suffered a nip slip in a boob-baring dress.
Unfortunately for the star, her daring dress moved slightly out of place and revealed more than she had hoped.
But despite the red carpet blunder, the model fixed her clothing issue quickly before smiling confidently for the cameras.
She also stood out with her neat top knot hairstyle, which added impact to her extravagant look.
Meredith accessorised her look with minimal jewellery, wearing sparkling diamond earrings to coordinate with her gown.
The model took to Instagram after the ceremony to comment on her time there.
In view of her 1.8 million followers, she shared a picture of herself in the eye-gabbing outfit with the caption: “Thank you so much @amfar for having me last night supporting a great cause.”
She shared another picture describing the event as a “fairytale”.
