Gabriele Marcotti reveals what he's been told about when Chelsea will sack Maurizio Sarri

Sarri has been linked with an exit from Chelsea just one season into his reign at the club.

The Italian is reportedly a target of Juventus to replace the departed Massimiliano Allegri.

However, Marcotti says Sarri will only move to Turin if he chooses to resign from his job at Stamford Bridge.

That would mean Juve would have to pay Chelsea compensation to release Sarri from his contract.

Marcotti was asked to rate the chances out of 10 of Sarri taking over at Juventus.

And he told ESPN FC he felt it was very unlikely to happen.

“It’s only a three here for Maurizio Sarri,” Marcotti said.

“This is predicated on the fact that Chelsea are going to sack Sarri.

“My information is that they won’t.

“In the end they finished third, he’s in the Europa League final, he reached the League Cup final, there’s a possible transfer ban hanging over the club.

“Juventus would have to go and pay compensation to make this happen, Sarri would have to resign.

“A lot of things have got to come together.

“The other thing is, also, it would be a total reversal of style to go into Sarri’s wide open football from what we’ve seen in the last few years.

“I’m not sure that would work with all the veteran players that they have.”
