Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, 53, told his co-star Susanna Reid, 48, she was looking “perky” minutes into the live show yesterday. Determined to find out why she was in such a chirpy mood, he asked Susanna what she got up to last night. He told her: “You are very perky. That’s the happy face you give me when you’ve had no sleep.” A romantic Barry White hit was then played aloud to add to the awkward encounter, prompting Susanna to burst into laughter.
Piers then said to the camera: “So, the mystery continues.”
After getting herself together, Susanna then chimed in: “The reason I am laughing at that is because I literally went to bed at 7.30 last night.”
“I’m not denying that at all,” Piers responded.
“I don’t doubt the fact that you spent hours in bed is up for question. It’s what you were doing there.”
Shutting down any further speculation, Susanna added: “Just me on my own in my bed.”
The funny moment comes just weeks after it was revealed Susanna had split from Crystal Palace boss Steve Parish, 53.
Susanna and Steve parted ways in April after a nine-month romance.
Piers asked Susanna about their split live on air after their break-up hit the headlines.
The brunette beauty said: “Let’s not dwell. I’m fine, we’re fine, we’re very good friends.”
Susanna’s relationship with Steve was her first public romance since her split from Dominic Cotton, whom she shares three children with.
The pair parted ways in 2014, but Susanna has since insisted they are still good friends.
She previously told The Sun the pair still live together and co-parent.
She said: “We still get on so well, Dom is still such a hands-on dad and we really co-parent.
“So we live separately but together and happily in the same house.
“I’m not saying everybody can do it and I definitely think people are surprised that we can do it this way.”
