WWE SmackDown PREVIEW after Money in the Bank: Roman Reigns status, new champ, star return

Big E returns

Big E is set to return to action tonight after spending the past month in the sidelines following knee surgery.

The ex-Intercontinental Champion will get a big Welcome Back celebration from his New Day team-mates Xavier Woods and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

The former NXT Champion will also celebrate Kingston’s successful WWE Championship defence against Kevin Owens at Money in the Bank.

MONEY IN THE BANK RESULTS

Bayley era

Bayley defeated Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke, Naomi, Natalya, Ember Moon, Carmella and Mandy Rose to become the third ever Ms Money in the Bank last Sunday.

The Hugger then decided to cash in on the same night on Charlotte Flair to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.

The two-time women’s champion is set to unveil her goals as champion tonight in an exclusive interview with WWE.com.

Fans should expect her to start a feud with Charlotte.

Roman Reigns vs Elias

Roman Reigns defeated Elias in just 10 seconds at Money in the Bank after being assaulted by The Drifter backstage.

But the two WWE superstars will have a rematch tonight on SmackDown.

Reigns’ WWE Super ShowDown opponent Shane McMahon will be in Elias’ corner.

New title

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley introduced the new WWE 24/7 Championship last night on RAW.

The new title can be won and defended at any time of the day as long as a referee is present.

Titus O’Neil became the inaugural champion but was quickly dethroned by Robert Roode.

Roode spent the rest of RAW hiding but SmackDown superstar R-Truth ultimately pinned him for the belt.

Truth will be bringing the new championship to SmackDown and fans should expect some more twists and turns.

Wild Card Rule

At least four RAW superstars will be invading SmackDown tonight.

The Usos seem like the likeliest candidates to return to the blue brand tonight after their non-title victory over SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan at Money in the Bank.

Jimmy and Jey Uso could get a shot at the titles tonight.
