Hatton Garden ITV location: Where is Hatton Garden on ITV filmed?

Hatton Garden finally premieres on ITV tonight (Monday, May 20) after an almost two-year delay from its original scheduled release. The four-part series follows the true story of a multi-million-pound heist in London’s diamond district over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend of 2015. With a number of recognisable shots and actual locations used in the ITV series, Express.co.uk spoke to series creator Jeff Pope and director Paul Whittington to find out where Hatton Garden is filmed.

Where is Hatton Garden on ITV filmed?

Hatton Garden is filmed in a number of different locations around London, UK.

The ITV series uses a number of shots from the real-life locations where the robbery took place.

As well as Hatton Garden and other areas in London’s diamond district, some shots were filmed in Lower Marsh, Waterloo.

Series director Whittington spoke to Express.co.uk and other media at an exclusive screening to discuss the filming locations for Hatton Garden.

Whittington said: “All the exteriors are all the real places, Greville Street, Hatton Garden, then we recreated an entire basement floor of that building where the vault was on a brilliant set.”

The Hatton Garden director continued: “(We) pretty much recreated it to scale and it was important to do that in a way that enabled us to execute the robbery in the right way.

“It was very interesting looking at the way they actually went in and how rudimentary and industrial it was – they smashed their way into that place!

“We created a set that we were able to smash our way into and to make it as authentic as possible so the actors could physically get their hands dirty.

“A real drill drilled through a real concrete wall, it was all designed in a linear way so we could work out way through that vault and break into it.

“It was important to everybody, particularly the cast actually, to have that detail right to fell the physicality of it.

“The hole is the exact size of the hole, we didn’t want to create a hole that accommodated our actors, we wanted the right sized hole and see if those guys could go through it.”
