NBA Playoffs: Damian Lillard SLAMMED as overhyped after Warriors take 3-0 series lead

The Trail Blazers must create NBA history in becoming the first team ever to overcome a 3-0 deficit in the postseason to reach the NBA Finals after losing Game 3.

The game went in a similar fashion to Game 2, with Portland taking a commanding lead into the third quarter.

But the Trail Blazers ended up scoring just 33 second half points, while the Warriors exploded for 57.

Steph Curry was once again at the forefront of their offence, finishing with 36 points, shooting 42.3 per cent from the floor.

Draymond Green was also at his best, recording his third triple-double of the 2019 NBA Playoffs along with four steals.

In contrast, it was another night to forget for Lillard, who shot just 27.8 from the floor.

The 28-year-old was incredible for Portland in their first round win over the Oklahoma City Thunder and kept up his good form as they saw off the Denver Nuggets.

But against the Warriors, Lillard has struggled to make an impact, making just 15 shots from 46 attempts.

And Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless hasn’t held back on his assessment of Lillard following the Game 3 loss.

“Damian Lillard: Extremely overhyped and overrated. Little more than a regular-season wonder,” he tweeted.

“No playoff killer in him.

“He did outplay Westbrook in the first round.

“But he is not more valuable than Westbrook, who plays so much harder and is more respected by other players.”
