David (played by Matthew Wolfenden) now knows about Maya’s (Louisa Clein) sick grooming of Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
In an upcoming episode of Emmerdale, he will lay a trap to catch Maya after she gets in contact with Jacob again.
After getting Ryan Stocks (James Moore) to help him track what Jacob is up to on his laptop, David is able to monitor the communications between Jacob and Maya.
He learns they have arranged to meet up at the cricket pavilion but David is one step ahead and turns up with the police following on after him on the ITV soap.
But if Maya is taken away, it might not be long before she’s back for a vicious showdown.
David star Matthew Wolfenden has divulged that the character “loses the plot” over the situation.
But it could it end in him committing an extreme act of violence if Maya is let out of police custody?
The actor told Metro.co.uk: “All he feels for Maya now is hate. David loses the plot a bit and goes through some really dark times. He’s shouting at Jacob and not being the role model and rock that he should be.”
It looks like David and Jacob’s relationship will be suffering through some really difficult times in the coming weeks.
Maya had sunk her claws in deep to the schoolboy who stills struggles to see how he was preyed on.
Matthew also said: “David’s relationship with Jacob becomes very strained. It goes through various ups and downs. At first Jacob locks himself away in his bedroom. David is trying to get through to him – he doesn’t blame Jacob.
“Yes he’s angry with Jacob and feels betrayed by him, but David is trying to push those feelings down and just go for Maya. He knows that it’s all Maya’s fault and Jacob was the innocent victim. But Jacob still wants nothing to do with David.”
If Maya was to be killed as David loses control, will he be the one that ends up behind bars?
Elsewhere in Emmerdale, there is happier news as Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) and Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox) prepare to marry again.
Although, it is undercut with a current of sadness as Lisa does not have long left to live.
The matriarch is living with a condition that has weakened her heart and so time is precious.
But her wedding day is hampered somewhat when some of the Dingle pigs end up escaping.
She helps to round them up and put them back where they belong, although her wedding dress doesn’t escape unscathed.
As Zak waits nervously at the church, he’s surprised to see Lisa turn up slightly flustered and covered in muck.
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
