Chris Evans: Virgin Radio host quizzes co-stars about contracts after big announcement

Chris gleefully told listeners Virgin Radio UK has more than 30 million listening hours. The 53-year-old said all stations have gone up and it has never happened before. He went on to reveal his contract has been extended from three years to five years.

Speaking on his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show, Chris said: “The wireless group is now over 30 million listening hours which is incredible.

“You’re a serious player as a group if you have over 30 million listening hours.

“Our friends at talkSPORT have just recorded over 3 million listeners for their audience which is incredible.

“All the stations in the group – we’re small, we’re only small.

“But we’re perfectly formed and we’re very proud and very happy altogether.

“All the stations have gone up in this group and that has never happened before ever.

“So, that’s all fantastic.

“We are hugely grateful.

“Steer us in the right direction and tell us what you want to hear and hopefully we’ll be somewhere in the middle and just crack right on.

“I initially signed for three years and that’s now five years.”

Chris recently revealed his number one superpower wish during a game with his children.

He said: “I went for being able to see my kids after I died.

“You are not allowed to pick eternal life.

“You are not allowed to get anybody in the world to fall in love with you and it’s the same rules as Disney’s Genie.”

He went on to reveal his second choice: “Breathing underwater but everyone says flying and I thought it was too predictable so I said that.

“I wish I had gone for flying! And never having to sleep would be my third.”

Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6.30am on Virgin Radio.
