Wilder vs Breazeale LIVE: Full updates from WBC heavyweight world title clash in New York

2:45am: Dillian Whyte has given his prediction to Sky Sports, and set a challenge to the WBC champion.

The Brit has pined for a shot against Wilder for a number of years, and called on the American to give him a chance.

“Deontay Wilder, I know you’re going to knock Dominic Breazeale out,” he said.

“But then, stop fighting jokers, fight your number one challenger. Let’s go baby, let’s go.”

2:15am: Deontay Wilder has made headlines for all the wrong reasons this week, after declaring his intentions to murder his opponent in the ring.

The WBC champion is set to be investigated by the sanctioning body after insisting he has the “right” to kill Breazeale.

Wilder told Breazeale he would pay for his funeral, and said that he wants to “massacre” the underdog.

Breazeale shrugged off the champion’s taunts, and instead suggested Wilder should let his fists do the talking.

2am: Good evening, good morning and welcome to our live coverage of Deontay Wilder’s heavyweight title defence against Dominic Breazeale.

The WBC belt is on the line in Brooklyn, New York, as is Wilder’s 41-fight unbeaten record.

Ring walks are expected at roughly 4am, slightly earlier than if the bout was taking place in Las Vegas, so not too bad for UK fight fans.
