Virgin Media REFUND and you could be set for money off your next bill

Virgin Media customers are set for a refund or extra data this weekend.

The news of this compensation comes after the service suffered a major outage on Tuesday leaving many customers without access to the firm’s mobile network.

Those issues lasted for some time with users left unable to make and receive calls, send texts or access 4G data.

After the outage was fixed a spokesperson said: “We apologise for the disruption and inconvenience some of our Virgin Mobile customers have experienced today.

“This was due to a technical issue which we’ve now resolved.

“We will be compensating our customers for the loss of service and will let them know the details shortly.”

Now we know exactly how much each customer will get back with Virgin Media announcing the news on its website.

To say sorry for the inconvenience caused, customers will receive 5GB extra data at no extra cost to use anytime this Sunday.

That’s clearly good for those on limited data deals but Virgin is aware that some users may be taking advantage of its unlimited SIM.

If that’s you then don’t worry as Virgin says it will be crediting your account with the price of one day’s airtime.

This will be applied to your next bill.

This outage has hit Virgin Media just weeks after the broadband company revealed its latest changes which is aimed at actually boosting speeds.

The new update to its fixed-line service includes something called V.VIP which offers customer speeds of over 500Mbps and access to all the premium sports and movie channels.

There’s also an unlimited Virgin Mobile SIM included with the price for this bundle costing £99 per month.

Speaking about the update, Virgin Media’s Chief Operating Officer, Lutz Schüler, said: “We’re combining the UK’s fastest widely available broadband speeds with a superfast 4G mobile network that’s faster on average than Vodafone, 02, Three and Sky, and a top-notch TV line-up to give Virgin Media customers greater choice, flexibility and an unrivalled connected entertainment experience.

“With lots more to come from Virgin Media later this year, our customers should stay tuned.”
