Stacey Dooley breaks silence on major change amid Kevin Clifton rumours ‘I can’t be a***d’

Stacey Dooley spoke out in view of her 291,000 Twitter followers yesterday, saying she “can’t be a***d” with all the “inaccuracies and assumptions”. The Strictly Come Dancing winner, who is reported to be dating BBC pro Kevin Clifton, replied to a fan who pointed out what she had changed, telling them there was “so much nonsense out there”. The 32-year-old recently removed comments on her Instagram, preventing people from replying to her posts. She has 729,000 followers on the picture-sharing app, where she regularly updates them with where she has been filming and other work commitments.

The user posted, tagging Stacey in it: “Breaks my heart the Stacey has had to remove commenting on her Insta.

“Goes to show how horrible people actually are. @StaceyDooley love you.”(sic)

The documentary-maker then wrote back: “Oh darlin. It’s the inaccuracies and assumptions that I can’t be a***d to read through.

“So much nonsense out there that just isn’t true. Big love girl.”(sic)

Many others rushed to support the small screen favourite, who recently split from her long-term boyfriend Sam Tucknott.

“There’s no point in reading the nasty comments anyway. They’re all completely irrelevant. But you still have lots of support regardless of the hate. Sending loads of love,” one read.

Another agreed: “So sorry, this shouldn’t happen to you or indeed anyone. It’s behaviour driven by spite and envy. Keep strong, you are loved and admired by soooo many. Be happy & KC too. X.”(sic)

A third went on: “Just to let you know you still have a lot of support out there, you’ve always really inspired me and I can’t wait for your new documentaries to air.”

Stacey also responded to a user who urged her to return to TV: “I NEED new @StaceyDooley docs in my life.

“Any release dates yet girl? So so excited for your new stuff – your work inspires me and gives me so much life!”

She then confirmed: “Girl. It’s comin… Sept.”(sic)

Stacey also gushed about Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, who opened up about her lifelong struggle with “extreme anxiety” in a BBC One documentary.

She tweeted: “@BegumNadiya… and Nadiya. Well done darlin. V brave to lay yourself bare. [Heart] All the love x.”

It comes after the star’s ex Sam previously branded Kevin a “rat” and a “snake”, in an interview with The Sun.

He said his ex told him in a text: “But you saw I didn’t start entertaining and texting him [Kevin] until I split up with you. I was not with you when we started it all.

“I did fall for him but when we were done. I will tell you anything you want to know.”
