Melania Trump: First Lady's ADVICE to Donald Trump during presidential campaign REVEALED

One year after Melania Trump launched her Be Best programme, she announced she is expanding its most prominent component – battling cyberbullying – to include a comprehensive push for online safety for children. Last week, the First Lady said at the Rose Garden celebrating her programme’s anniversary: “This past year has shown me that children are vulnerable to more than just social media, and so I expanded one of my pillars to online safety.” After the event, Sinclair TV personality Eric Bollin praised the former model, calling her “the most important and accomplished First Lady in American history. Full stop”.

His comment immediately sparked a heated online debate on what First Lady was the “most important and accomplished”.

As people keep drawing more comparisons, from Eleanor Roosevelt to Hillary Clinton, a newly-resurfaced interview reveals how Melania might have been crucial for her husband’s journey to the White House.

Four months after Mr Trump launched his presidential campaign in 2015, the American firebrand and his wife agreed to be interviewed by ABC News to discuss their marriage.

Interviewer Barbara Walters asked Melania if she was giving his husband any advice on the debates.

The former model said: “We discuss.

“I tell him my opinions.”

Ms Walters elaborated: “Give me an example of a piece of advice you have given your husband that he has taken.”

After sharing a look with her husband, Melania responded with a smile: “I will keep it private.”

However, the now US President revealed: “I can tell you.

“She has told me a couple of times during the debates that she was very happy with my performance, but she said ‘you can tone it down a little bit’ on occasions, which I understand.”

However, in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity last year regarding this topic, Melania suggested her husband does not always listen to what she says.

The First Lady told Mr Hannity: “I follow what’s going on and I give my husband advice and my honest opinion.

“Sometimes he listens and sometimes he doesn’t.

“I don’t agree with his tone sometimes and I tell him that.

“[In] the end, it’s his decision. He knows the consequences. He’s an adult. But he’s a fighter. He’s the fighter.”

Over the years, Mr Trump has repeatedly clashed with an array of opponents, including politicians from both parties, celebrities and journalists.
