10:00 UPDATE: Liverpool plans revealed

Liverpool will have a quiet summer transfer window as they don’t have a lot of money to spend, BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein claims.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport: “There’s not a lot of money left. Any spending will be below the fees that they spent on Shaqiri last summer, a fee of around £13m.

“The interest in Julian Brandt is not going to come to fruition this summer.

“There was previously interest in him, the window before they signed Mohamed Salah in 2017.

“He didn’t want to play second fiddle then and the situation would be worse for him now.

“The same case with Timo Werner. We’re looking at around £20m for these players plus four or five-year contracts and agents fees.

“It’s not going to happen. It’s going to be a low-key summer for Liverpool.”

Now, L’Equipe say Real are not in as much of a hurry to announce Hazard’s signing from Chelsea.

07:40 UPDATE: Griezmann to Liverpool backed

Liverpool have been backed to sign Antoine Griezmann after Atletico Madrid announced the striker will leave this summer.

ESPN FC pundit Craig Burley said: “I actually think that Liverpool would be a great place for Griezmann to go this summer.

“Liverpool are very much a team on the up at the moment and he could aid Roberto Firmino who also likes to drop deep.

“Liverpool are a huge club who are fighting for league titles with Manchester City and have reached the last two Champions League finals.

“I don’t know if they have got enough money to do it but I wouldn’t go to Manchester United, that’s for sure.

“You talk about how good Griezmann would be linking up with Messi and Barcelona, what about with Liverpool’s front three?

“You look at that and we talk about Liverpool needing that strength in depth, he would add that and Firmino or Salah some games might sit out.”

07:20 UPDATE: Arsenal eyeing FIVE signings

Arsenal boss Unai Emery could look to sign players in five different positions this summer – but he has earmarked two particular priorities, David Ornstein of BBC Sport claims.

Ornstein told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport: “Despite still waiting to appoint a technical director, sporting director, director of football, they have identified targets and conversations are underway.

“They’re looking for experience and youth in their recruitment. Their priorities are a central defender and a box-to-box midfielder.

“Previously in January they came close to a deal for Christopher Nkunku from PSG. This is of course is to replace Aaron Ramsey [who is joining Juventus on a free transfer].

“[PSG’s] Adrien Rabiot is among the players they’ve tried to sign in the past and have a long-standing interest in but he’s quite a complex individual and has had some issues off the pitch.

“As a secondary brief they’d be looking at a wide forward. In January they came close to a deal for Ivan Perisic and had interest in Yannick Carrasco.

“Possibly a centre forward with Danny Welbeck leaving. Eddie Nketiah would then go out on loan if they brought a centre forward in.

“There is interest in bringing in a left back and possibly a right back, but again, those are secondary to the central defender and box-to-box midfielder.”
