Carol Kirkwood: BBC Breakfast star causes a stir as she sends co-stars ‘running for cover'

Carol Kirkwood, 56, took to Twitter where she uploaded an hilarious photo of one of her colleagues hiding behind a wall with his arms covering his face while a camera man also attempted to run away from the BBC Breakfast star. The BBC weather favourite explained she was putting hairspray on, to the dislike of her co-stars. In view of her 154,000 followers, she wrote: “All I said was that I was going to put some more hairspray on!,” followed by laughing faced emojis. She cheekily added: “Everyone run for cover! @BBCBreakfast.”

The funny post certainly tickled her followers, as it gained over 200 likes.

Carol, who is a regular weather forecaster on BBC Breakfast, was recently outed by her pal and former Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman on on BBC Radio Wales.

The presenter spoke about the meteorologist’s role on a recent broadcast of her show and insisted it it wasn’t “easy” for her to deliver bad weather news.

During the show, Carol Vorderman’s co-star presented the local weather forecast, but a caller later texted in to inform her the weather had changed in a particular area.

Carol Vorderman read out the text and turned to the show’s weather presenter to joke he was “in trouble”.

She then added: “It’s like being Carol Kirkwood, It’s not easy, let me tell you.

“She’s a really good buddy of mine, it’s not easy for her because unless it’s sunny, she gets into trouble.”

Meanwhile, the BBC favourite recently addressed her weight loss on the micro-blogging site.

It comes after the weather forecaster enjoyed a night out at the UK Coach Awards and spoke about about her evening.

She wrote: “What a fun evening at @UKCoachAwards In my eyes you are ALL winners! Thank you for inviting me back.”

One of Carol’s followers were eager to view pictures of the BBC Breakfast star’s outfit from the night.

A fan club of Carol tweeted a snap of the star dressed in a coat with a red and white scarf around her neck.

Carol beamed away in the photo whilst clutching a champagne flute next to a pal.

The account wrote: “Exclusive picture of @carolkirkwood at the bus and coach awards last night. You’re welcome.”

Carol corrected them and revealed it wasn’t from the night out as she revealed she has lost almost two stone since that image was taken.

The BBC favourite commented: “Eek! Piccie taken before lost 23lbs!!”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC One.
