Matt Baker: 'We're going to move on' The One Show host drops baby bombshell

Matt Baker, 41, was joined by his co-star Angelica Bell, 43, on BBC’s The One Show, where the pair chatted with Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, 47, last week. As the trio discussed his new film, which features Hollywood A-list actor Harrison Ford, Matt spilled his knowledge behind the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s choice of name and admitted he believes the royal couple are “big fans” of the name Harrison Ford. The presenter said: “We’re going to move onto another Duke aren’t we first of all?” Angelica replied: “Yes, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because they mentioned the name of their baby Archie. Well, not mentioned, they told us.”

She then asked Eric: “Do you like the name?”

The Modern Family actor admitted he thought it was a “great name” before Matt revealed the meaning behind it.

He said: “[Archie] It means bold, it means brave,” before adding: “Harrison – son of Harry, son of Henry.”

According to the BBC, the name Archie does not have any British royal connotations and Harrison too is a totally new name for the Royal Family.

In addition to this, the name Harrison, which was originally used as a surname, means “son of Harry”.

After getting the lowdown on the meaning of Archie’s name, Eric said: “Oh, I was wondering what the Harrison was for. What is the third name?”

Matt did not confirm but instead quipped: “Or maybe they [Harry and Meghan] are just big fans of Harrison Ford.”

The One Show host’s fan claim comes after Meghan and Harry debuted the latest royal addition to the world last week.

Meanwhile, Matt is currently hosting the BBC show without his regular co-star Alex Jones, 42, who is away on maternity leave.

Ahead of her departure, the Countryfile host admitted it would be “odd” without the Welsh star.

The pair announced at during their last show it would be the final time they host together before Alex takes time off.

He mused: “It’s going to be odd though.”

In agreement, Alex nodded and replied: “It is going to be odd.”

He then continued: “It’s going to be odd. No seriously, it’s going to be weird with you watching with a little viewer.”

The mother-of-two turned to comfort her co-host, and quickly said: “It’ll be odd but it’ll go quick. I’ll be back in the autumn. Keep the seat warm.”

It wasn’t long before Alex was asking Matt to not “make her cry” as she seemingly appeared to get emotional.

Matt said: “It goes without saying, I’m going to miss you.”

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
