Man Utd flop Alexis Sanchez only joined for ONE reason – Patrice Evra

That’s the view of Red Devils hero Patrice Evra with Sanchez’s future at Manchester United in serious doubt this summer.

Sanchez joined United from Arsenal last January with his wages reported to be up to £500,000 per week.

Despite impressing at the Emirates, Sanchez has scored just five goals in all competitions for Manchester United.

The Red Devils saw off city rivals Manchester City for the Chilean’s signature last January.

But Evra believes that was purely down to the financial offerings of United and that Sanchez would have been better off moving to the Etihad.

“Some players only come for the money, I am not afraid to say that,” Evra told Sky Sports.

“I have nothing against him, but Sanchez, when I saw the deal, that’s when I thought the Manchester United history just went down.

“He had Manchester City, they were offering less money but he was going to play a better football than United – I’m sorry about that, but City play better football.

“Guardiola will also improve him.

“So I want to know what is the real reason for choosing United?

“Don’t tell me he loved Manchester United when he was a kid.

“It’s either the money or he wanted to be the number one, take the No 7 shirt and be the star.”

Sanchez has been linked with a move away from Manchester United with Juventus a rumoured destination.

The Red Devils are set for a busy summer with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to rejuvenate his squad.

Yet Solskjaer refused to give too much away when asked about what the future holds for Sanchez.

“Alexis has a contract with us,” he said.

“I’m not going to speak too much about individuals.

“When we come back on July 1 we can have the next chat and that will be a nice little summer for me.”
