EastEnders spoilers: Kat Slater TORN as Kush Kazemi begins custody battle with Stacey

Kat (played by Jessie Wallace) has been flirting with Kush (Davood Ghadami) on EastEnders for several weeks, with the pair finally giving into their spark by sleeping with each other.

Kush and Kat have decided to keep their new romance under the lid, with the leopard print fashionista the cousin to the market trader’s son’s mother, Stacey (Lacey Turner).

The secrecy will surely lead to Stacey trying to set up Kat with someone else, unaware her cousin is already in the midst of a new romance, which will only lead Kush to become more jealous as he watches from afar.

Next week, it isn’t the prospect of losing his new lover which sees Kush withdraw from Kat as the first year of the anniversary of brother Shakil Kazemi’s (Shaheen Jafargholi) death dawns on the BBC soap.

Kush begins ignoring messages from Kat who is keen to have another romantic dalliance with the market trader, but instead, he confides in Shakil’s ex-girlfriend Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield).

As the pair reminisce about Shakil at his graveside, Kush is caught in another lover’s tiff as Bex admits she is in love with the marker trader.

Still gripped by grief and stunned by Bex’s admission, Kush tells the lovestruck teenager her hopes of a romance are never going to happen with him.

Realising how he really feels about Kat, Kush tries to make amends with the Walford icon and as he explains why he’s been so cold towards her, the market trader opens up about how he really feels about his brother’s death.

Hoping to give Kush something to be happy about, Kat decides to bring round his three-year-old son Arthur to his house so the father can spend some time with his son.

Distracted with Arthur, Kat watches on as Kush’s spirits spring to life but she soon starts to panic when her plan backfires.

Kush decides after spending some much-needed time with his young son, he wants to apply for joint custody of the toddler with his mother Stacey.

However, how will Stacey react when she discovers Kush is wanting to share their child’s custody and will she uncover the secret affair between her cousin and the market trader?

With her mother Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) in the midst of her cancer treatment, Stacey is already feeling the stress, so could she decide to take some time away from the Square wit Arthur to stop Kush getting custody of the toddler?

Stacey actress Lacey Turner, 31, will be temporarily leaving the BBC soap in the coming months after the star announced she is expecting her first child earlier this year.

Of the news, Lacey told OK! Magazine: “I can’t wait to nurture our baby. We’ve dreamed of having a family for so long.”

Elsewhere in Walford, evil schemer Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) will be up to his old tricks as he devises a sinister plan against Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).

Since arriving back on the Square with cousin and Billy’s granddaughter Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) earlier this year, the troublemaker has been planning to bring down father Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

Although Phil knows Ben is stirring the pot, he is unaware of the extent of his son’s revenge plan but the secret is put under threat when a drunk Lola tells Billy everything.

With his loyalties lying with Phil, Billy tells Phil what his son is planning with Ben then desperately trying to convince his father of an alternative version of the truth.

However, has Billy put himself in the firing line to become Ben’s next victim and will the schemer get rid of Lola’s grandfather once and for all?

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
