Doris Day was an American actress, singer and more recently an animal rights activist known for starring in a number of musicals. Her death was sadly announced today.
The star began her career back in 1939 working as a singer and soon went on to have her own record deal and work as an actress.
She took starring roles in classic musicals such as Calamity Jane, Pillow Talk and Love me or Leave Me.
