Avengers Endgame screenwriters confirm MAJOR Captain America Peggy Carter theory

At the end of Avengers Endgame, Captain America went back in time to the 1940s and finally settled down with Peggy Carter. Marvel fans have since pointed out how we know the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent had a husband and kids, but we never saw him. Now the screenwriters Markus and McFeely have confirmed that that husband was always the time travelling Steve Rogers. This also means those kids of Peggy’s are his.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, McFeely said: “It was always our intention that he was the father of those two children.

“But again, there are time travel loopholes for that.”

Markus added: “It does introduce the idea that there are two children who have somewhat super soldier DNA.”

Perhaps this means their children will feature in future MCU movies?

HAYLEY ATWELL RESPONDS TO PEGGY CARTER TWIST

McFeely was certainly right to point out the time travel loopholes, with Avengers Endgame directors The Russo Brothers disagreeing with them.

The filmmakers argue that Cap going back in time created an alternate timeline, which means he had to come back into the prime one as an old man to give Falcon his shield.

But Markus said: “That is our theory. We are not experts on time travel, but the Ancient One specifically states that when you take an Infinity Stone out of a timeline it creates a new timeline.

“So Steve going back and just being there would not create a new timeline. So I reject the ‘Steve is in an alternate reality’ theory.”

He added: “I do believe that there is simply a period in world history from about 1948 to now where there are two Steve Rogers.

“And anyway, for a large chunk of that one of them is frozen in ice.

“So it’s not like they’d be running into each other.”

Avengers Endgame is out now.
