Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd SHOCK snub, £30m Arsenal target, Chelsea hint, Liverpool error

08.25 UPDATE: Arsenal budget boost

Arsenal boss Unai Emery will be quids in if he leads the Gunners to Europa League glory this month.

The north Londoners set up a final showdown with rivals Chelsea by beating Valencia 7-3 on aggregate.

And securing the trophy in Baku will give a significant boost to their transfer kitty for the summer.

Arsenal are understood to have £45m at their disposal at present, but that could go up to £70m.

08.05 UPDATE: Liverpool error

Liverpool may be left to rue not making the most of Daniel James being a Red if he heads to Manchester United.

Sky Sports reported on Friday that United are close to sealing a £15m move for the Swansea and Wales winger.

And that came 24 hours after White had revealed James is a boyhood fan of United’s fierce rivals Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has a host of attacking talent at Anfield, but not moving for James could come back to bit him.

07.35 UPDATE: Chelsea hint

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has dropped a clue he could stay at Stamford Bridge amid interest from Real Madrid.

Real want Hazard to be part of their new-look team next season as they look to reclaim the La Liga title from Barcelona.

But, at Chelsea’s awards evening, Hazard hinted he could stay in west London rather than head for the Spanish capital.

A fan in the crowd shouted “Sign the contract!” and Hazard cheekily replied “Where’s the pen?”.

06.55 UPDATE: £30m Arsenal target

Arsenal can land Eric Bailly from Manchester United as long as the Red Devils recoup what they paid for him, it has been claimed.

Bailly has fallen out of favour and suffered with injuries having initially looked set to become a defensive lynchpin at United.

With a new centre-back though to be on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wish list, he might find chances even harder to come by next season.

The Metro reckon Arsenal are ready to offer Bailly a route out of Old Trafford – however, United want £30m for the Ivory Coast international.

06.25 UPDATE: Man Utd SHOCK snub

Manchester United did not sign Matthijs de Ligt due to fears he could become fat later in his career, say reports.

De Ligt is one of the hottest properties in the world with a queue of elite clubs ready and waiting to get him on board.

United were among them last summer as Jose Mourinho looked to bolster his leaky defence with a rising star.

However, the Mirror claim United pulled the plug on a potential deal because chief scout Marcel Bout had previously flagged up concerns the Ajax ace would lose his pace by becoming overweight.
