Pakistan Hotel LOCKDOWN: Gunmen OPEN FIRE on first floor

Pakistan Defence Command said “three to five terrorists” were firing from the first floor of the Pearl Continent Hotel, located in Gwadar Port. They said on Twitter: “Terror Attack on Pearl Continental Hotel, Koh-e-Batil, Gawadar, Balochistan. 3-5 terrorists reportedly have stormed the hotel and are firing from the first floor. “Pakistan Army and Navy Commandoes trying to enter the building.”

India Today also reported the suspects inside the hotel have hand grenades.

One witness said most of the guests have been evacuated, but the attackers have since reached the first floor of the hotel.

In another tweet from the Command, they added: “Security forces are currently inside the hotel tackling the terrorists.”

The attack comes weeks after 14 people, including 11 security personnel, were killed by a gunman in another attack in the same region Gwadar.

Social media users flooded the internet to share their concerns following news of today’s separate attack.

One said: “We are in an uphill battle. Odds are against us. Quick reactions are needed which this structure do not allow.”
