Victoria season 3 spoilers: Victoria set for heartbreak as Albert collapses in finale?

In the last instalment of the third run of the popular ITV drama, Prince Albert (played by Tom Hughes) will collapse.

Viewers may know Queen Victoria (Jenna Coleman) became a young widow when her husband died at the age of 42.

However, the series is still set several years before that, so it doesn’t look as though Albert will die in Sunday’s episode of Victoria.

It may serve to indicate the health issues that the royal will be suffering with, as his stomach problems have been documented in history books.

While questions have been raised in modern times about whether stomach issues caused his demise, his cause of death at the time was attributed to typhoid fever.

Writer Daisy Goodwin has previously hinted a death could be on the cards in the fourth season.

She revealed: “[Series four] is going to be an absolute humdinger.

“Somebody might die in it. So that is a great challenge but it’s such an amazing story and the fallout is fantastic.

“You can Wikipedia it. Someone dies and someone new comes on the scene. I’m really enjoying it. I’m really into it.”

However, viewers will have to wait and see who it could be.

The finale of the third season will see the opening of Prince Albert’s big project, the Great Exhibition.

He desperately wants it to be a success and it appears to be a major triumph.

But there is trouble elsewhere as Victoria is told that Sophie (Lily Travers) isn’t well.

Victoria takes things into her own hands and demands Monmouth (Nicholas Audsley) that he release her.

Meanwhile, Palmerston (Laurence Fox) has a set back when he misjudges a political situation.

The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations was a real event which took place from May 1 1851 until October 15 of the same year.

The fair included artefacts from across the world as well as cutting edge machinery and products.

It was held in The Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, the building was later moved to South London where the area was renamed Crystal Palace.

The building was destroyed in 1936 when a fire burnt it to the ground.

Victoria season 3 concludes Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
