Prince Harry body language: How is the Duke of Sussex REALLY finding being a dad?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting used to life as first-time parents after the birth of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.  Despite having a newborn baby, Prince Harry has already been back at work and headed to The Hague, Netherlands, to mark the official launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 yesterday.  Archie may only be five days old, but Prince Harry has already changed dramatically since becoming a dad, according to body language expert, Judi James.  The Duke of Sussex’s body language signifies he has gone from anxious to extremely happy almost instantly, she revealed.

Since meeting Meghan, Harry changed drastically, and his body language has revealed he has changed again since becoming a dad.

Judi said: “It was a very different Harry that emerged after the birth of little Archie.

“Since meeting Meghan his body language has evolved from fun, boyish bachelor to a man deeply in love through to a guy prone to signs of mounting anxiety and a desire to get everything just right for his wife on the build-up to the birth of their first child.

“With the worry about Meghan and the rumoured war with his older brother, Harry’s frown often looked like a scowl and his self-comfort rituals, like holding the front of his jacket in his odd ‘paperclip’ gesture, had increased.”

Prince Harry appeared more anxious and mature since meeting Meghan, but now seems full of confidence and happiness, Judi explained.

She said: “With the safe delivery of his new son though, plus some valuable extra bonding time with the baby thanks to the delay in posing for press photos, we’re now seeing a much less introverted man who is back to sharing his signs of very open happiness with the world once again.”

Harry has appeared three times since the birth, first when he announced it at Windsor, when he appeared with Meghan and Archie and again at the Invictus Games, and it seems as though he can’t stop smiling.

Judi revealed: “This unique experience in his life has resulted in some first-time facial expressions. Harry’s signature ‘naughty’ smile has been replaced by a broader, face-widening, horizontal beam of pride and relief.

“Underneath Harry’s fun persona there has always lurked signals of a more cautious approach to the press and any potential intrusion, but the adrenalin buzz of being a first-time dad seems to have created a more open, inclusive state of mind.

“Harry’s gleaming smile suggests he loves everything and everyone right now.

“This very specific ‘new dad’ smile makes Harry virtually unrecognisable, with his face widened at upper cheek level and his smiling eye expression softened to a point that could be called ‘soppy’.”

Jetting off to the Invictus Games launch just days after becoming a dad, Harry showed his excitement and desperation to get back to his new family, Judi explained.

“In one photo, his signature cheeky grin is firmly in place again, with the lips pulled quite tightly around the teeth in a way that shows barely-suppressed happiness.

“His chest is splayed to suggest alpha confidence although the trait of fiddling with the little finger of his left hand suggests he’s suffering some levels of separation anxiety from Meghan and Archie at this moment too.”

The name choice of “Harrison” could be a nod to Prince Harry, as it literally means “Harry’s son”.

Prince George may have given hints about the name months ago, as he told a dog walker his name was “Archie”.
