“Medical responders were dispatched but I do not know what happened subsequently at this stage and if the man was confirmed dead at the scene or not.”

WHAT WAS FREDDIE STARR’S NET WORTH?

According to The Telegraph, police sources said there was nothing to suggest Freddie’s death was suspicious.

The publication reported an autopsy is expected to take place tomorrow in order to rule out the possibility his death was the result of a crime.

The cause of death of the comedian, who was known to have suffered from asthma and heart problems, has not yet been reported.

The impressionist, singer and actor started off as the frontman of Merseybeat band the Midniters in the early 1960s.

The article claimed the comedian put a friend’s hamster in between bread and ate it when his pal refused to make him a sandwich after he returned from a gig.

In his 2001 autobiography, however, Freddie refuted the claims, writing: “I have never eaten or even nibbled a live hamster, gerbil, guinea pig, mouse, shrew, vole or any other small mammal.”

His career dwindled in the 1990s, the latter years of which he presenter game show Beat the Crusher and also took part in Celebrity Fit Club.

In 2011, a year after he underwent quadruple bypass surgery following a heart attack, Freddie headed into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
