Eden Hazard DESERVES to leave Chelsea like Cristiano Ronaldo did at Man Utd – pundit

That is the opinion of BT Sport pundit and former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

Eden Hazard is heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid – a club he has previously stated he would love to play for.

The Belgian is out of contract at the end of next season and Chelsea may choose to cash in rather than letting their most prized asset leave for nothing.

Hazard has made 350 appearances for Chelsea, scoring over 100 goals and has won five major honours since joining in 2012.

Hargreaves says supporters will understand if Hazard does move on to the Bernabeu.

And he has compared it to when Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United for Real back in 2009.

“He’s probably earned the right to have an opportunity like Real Madrid or Barcelona,” Hargreaves said.

“You think about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Manchester United.

“The only team really he was going to go to was a Real.

“I don’t think many people would begrudge him that opportunity to play on that level.

“But obviously he’d be a huge miss in the Premier League.

“I think he’s the most gifted player in the Premier League, most talented player.

“We just don’t want to lose those players in the Premier League.

“But he’s done so much for this football club and he will go down as one of the best players here ever.”
