Avengers Endgame: DEVASTATING Hulk shock for final Bruce Banner film

The spoiler ban has lifted and the filmmakers have started speaking about the most shocking scenes in Avengers 4, as well as what it means for some of the biggest characters in their next movies. Fans had only just recovered from seeing the new Professor Hulk incarnation when their newly jolly green giant suffered two horrifying losses. The death of Natasha, aka Black Widow, was a tremendous blow, especially when it was confirmed she was not coming back. Hulk tried and failed when he used the Gauntlet to reverse the Snap. But using the Infinity Stones also came at a terrible personal price for him.

The Russos said: “He’s lost an arm. He lost Natasha. That’s not coming back. He’s damaged himself…

“It’s interesting. That’s permanent damage, the same way that it was permanent damage with Thanos. It’s irreversible damage. His arm, if you noticed, is a lot skinnier. It’s blackened. So, he loses a lot of strength there.”

Unlike other original Avengers like Chris Evans, Hulk/Bruce Banner actor Mark Ruffalo still has one more movie on his MCU contract. What does the new damage mean for Hulk?

Joe Russo said: “There’s a lot of smart people left. Maybe someone helps him repair that. Maybe someone gives him a new arm.

“I have no idea where that character goes from here. The nice thing is we didn’t have to pay attention to where it goes after this, we just try to tell a satisfying ending.”

The Russos certainly delivered an epic finale to the MCU Phases one to Three, but many fans are not convinced it was entirely satisfying. Unsurprisingly, the time travel aspect is the most divisive, especially concerning the mechanics (and ethics) of Steve going back to Peggy Carter.
