The FIVE Ajax players who Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal should target in transfer window

Ajax, after years in the wilderness, are back rubbing shoulders with Europe’s elite ahead of their Champions League clash with Tottenham.

A draw or win would see them progress to the final where they will face Liverpool and few would bet against them.

Ajax have enjoyed a magical Champions League run this season. Bayern Munich were held to two draws in the group stages, while Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus have fallen at their hands.

Express Sport now takes a look at the players Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal should be targeting this summer. Frenkie De Jong is off to Barcelona – but there are still other talents at their disposal.

Matthijs de Ligt

Of all the Ajax players shining at present, Matthijs de Ligt has to be the pick of the bunch.

The Holland international has been in stunning form this season and reports claim he has rejected Manchester United.

De Ligt would cost more than Arsenal’s budget for the transfer window, so Liverpool should make a swoop. He would be a formidable partner for Virgil van Dijk at the back.

Nicolas Tagliafico

Nicolas Tagliafico has been in stellar form this season but, in a blow to Premier League clubs, recently downplayed talk of a move away.

But Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool should all try their luck for the Argentine.

Tagliafico would be an upgrade on Luke Shaw at United. The perfect successor for Nacho Monreal at Arsenal. And the ideal star to jostle Andy Robertson for a starting berth at Liverpool.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek scored the winner as Ajax beat Tottenham 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League clash.

The 22-year-old has impressed and chipped in with key goals from the middle of the park.

United need stardust in the centre. But he would also be a good fit at Arsenal and Liverpool this summer.

Hakim Ziyech

Versatile in attack, and with a release clause of just £25million, Hakim Ziyech would be a smart addition.

The 26-year-old has bagged 19 goals from 39 games this season, with his finest hour coming against Real Madrid.

United have been strongly linked but he would flourish under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. Arsenal, given his relatively low asking price, may be interested too.

David Neres

This year has seen David Neres come of age.

The Ajax star is finally producing, with his speed often leaving defenders trailing in his wake.

United, Arsenal and Liverpool would all welcome his arrival. Tottenham, too, have been backed to secure his signature.
