Ancestry.co.uk have suggested they may look back at their family tree when it comes to picking names.

This means that Prince Lancelot, Boniface, or even Marmaduke could be contenders.

Ancestry spokesperson Russell James said: “Trying to guess the royal baby’s name is a great British tradition and having delved into family tree records, we can see the range of names in both families is incredibly diverse.

“Although traditional names are making a comeback, it would be wonderful to celebrate a Princess Gertrude or a Prince Lancelot!”

The Instagram post on the official @SussexRoyal account read: “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.

“The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.

“More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”
