Kate Middleton wows in Wales ahead of Meghan Markle & Prince Harry sharing baby pictures

Kate Middleton, 37, and her husband Prince William, 36, carried out several engagements in Anglesey, Wales, today. The couple previously lived there, after they married in 2011. They were based in North Wales when the Duke of Cambridge worked as an Air-Sea Rescue helicopter pilot. The Duchess of Cambridge, considered a style icon by many, exuded style during today’s visit.

The royal wore a red double-breasted blazer for the occasion.

It is believed to be the Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Double-breasted twill blazer, which costs $1,515 (around £1,162).

Kate also wore a black roll neck top, which had long sleeves.

She teamed it with a pair of black skinny trousers and black heeled boots.

For her accessorises, she opted for a black snake skin-style bag.

It is not the first time Kate has worn this ensemble.

The Duchess wore the same look on Valentine’s Day in 2017, as she arrived at RAF Wittering in Peterborough.

At the time, she also wore a pair of black gloves.

Yesterday, Kate had opted for a nautical look, as she stepped out with her spouse in London.

They had been at the launch of the King’s Cup Regatta at Cutty Sark, Greenwich.

She wore a cream and navy Breton striped jumper for the occasion, which had a crew neck.

The royal also wore a pair of blue wide-legged trousers, by L.K.Bennett.

The designer item is the Parker Button Waist Trousers in Midnight Blue, and costs £150.

She teamed the look with a red suede clutch bag, which costs £350 and is by Emmy London.

Kate also wore a pair of Gianvito Rossi Piper 85 suede pumps – which sell for £510.

The Duchess also wore a pair of earrings worth £35,000, which were Princess Diana’s.

Elsewhere in royal news today, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have let the world see their royal baby for the first time today.

The new parents posed with their two-day-old son, who was born on Monday morning.

A name for the royal baby is yet to be revealed.

How did Kate Middleton become a royal?

Early life

Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, England.

She was born to Michael and Carole Middleton, a former flight dispatcher and air hostess. The couple founded a party supplies company, Party Pieces, in 1987 – now estimated to be worth £30 million.

Kate has a younger sister Pippa Matthews, 34, and a younger brother James Middleton, 31.

Education

Kate and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984, where the future Duchess was educated at an English-speaking nursery school.

After moving back to Berkshire the family sent Kate to private school, St Andrews School. She went on to briefly study at Downe House before moving onto Marlborough College where she boarded.

For university the young Kate attended the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Here she was awarded an undergraduate MA (2:1 Hons) in history of art.

Relationship with Prince William

Kate met Prince William when they were both studying at St Andrews, and both living in St Salvator’s Hall. Famously, William reportedly took a fancy to Kate after she wore a see-through dress during a fashion show.

In 2003 the couple began dating and lived together during their second year of university.

The couple split in April 2007, however, in October they were back together.

Wedding

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his late mother Princess Diana’s engagement ring in October 2010. The couple were holidaying in Kenya at the time.

On 29 April 2011 they married at Westminster Abbey with a whopping 26 million watching the event live.

Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress worth a reported £250,000 on the big day.

Kate assumed the title “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge” and also become the Duchess of Cambridge on the day.
