Avengers Endgame: You won’t BELIEVE how old Thanos is – Joe Russo reveals Mad Titan's age

The Mad Titan had been terrorising the Marvel Cinematic Universe for decades before the events of Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame. But just how old is the big purple brute? While Josh Brolin – who plays the villain via motion capture – is 51-years-old, it turns out Thanos is considerably older. According to Endgame director Joe Russo, he’s at least 1000-years-old.

Speaking with Comic Book, Joe said: “Clearly, Thanos, you know, is a thousand-year-old character who has fought everyone in the universe.

“He’s the greatest. He’s the Genghis Khan of the universe. He would have the greatest weapon.”

This may come as a surprise to some Marvel fans, but let’s not forget just how old other cosmic beings in the MCU are.

During Avengers Infinity War, Thor revealed he was around 1500 years old.

So presumably his father Odin was a few thousand years older than the God of Thunder when he died.

After all, Odin’s father Bor defeated the Dark Elves during the First Battle of Svartalfheim in 2988BC.

Meanwhile, The Grandmaster and his brother The Collector are almost 14 million years old.

The two cosmic beings were born shortly after the beginning of the universe.
