John Cena: Kurt Angle reveals he would love one more match with WWE hero after retirement

Angle rolled credits on is illustrious wrestling career at WrestleMania 35 when he lost his final match to Baron Corbin.

Rumours suggested the 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist’s retirement match would be against Cena given their historic four-year rivalry that started in 2002.

Angle faced The Champ in a stunning bout on the latter’s debut and the two also feuded over the WWE Championship from 2004 until the Olympian left the company two years later.

The Olympic Hero held a Q&A session on Facebook and was asked which one of his past rivals he would like to fight one last time.

The six-time world champion insists he would like to lock up with Cena again and hinted at a glimmer of regret when thinking about all the great matches they could have had during Cena’s glory years that took place from 2007 until 2012.

Angle said: “Cena.

“John was young when we locked horns.

“He got better and better every year.

“I left the WWE in 2006.

“John’s best years were 2007-12.

“Imagine the matches we would have had if I stayed.”

Angle returned to WWE in 2017 to be inducted into the Hall of Fame by Cena.

The ex-WWE Champion spent 10 years on TNA before his grand comeback where he won six world titles.

The former World Heavyweight Champion also beat some of wrestling’s biggest legends like Sting, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.
