These foods can help you burn belly fat, celebrity personal trainer reveals

Losing weight is not an easy task but there is lots of information available to help dieters shape up.  Whether trying to lose weight for a special occasion or just hoping to improve overall health, slimmers can follow a number of diet plans.  Targeting a specific part of the body can be more more tricky, but an expert has revealed what can be done to help get rid of belly fat.  Celebrity personal trainer and co-founder of online fitness platform, Results with Lucy, Cecilia Harris, opened up to Express.co.uk about how to flatten the abs.

How to get a flat stomach

Many people dream of six-pack abs and it seems slimmers can get this if they simply follow a healthy diet.

Cecilia told Express.co.uk: “Eating a balanced diet is about having all of the right nutrients on your plate.

“It’s the vegetables, it’s the carbs, it’s the protein and also the minerals which will come in the fruits and everything else you eat.”

Making sure to eat healthy foods and include the right nutrients in the diet will help slimmers lose weight from their whole body, including their stomach.

“You have to reduce fat from your entire body, that is it,” Cecilia explained.

“There is no magic food that is going to make you lose belly fat unfortunately.”

What foods can help cut belly fat?

Although they may not burn fat, there are some foods that can help with the appearance of a flatter stomach, Cecilia revealed.

She said: “There is a bit of science behind bloating. Eating leafy green vegetables will help, such as spinach and also bananas for potassium.”

The look of a flatter stomach can be achieved as leafy vegetables reduce the appearance of bloating, and drinking herbal teas will also help this.

Cecilia said: “There are a few different items of food to do this and peppermint tea and fennel tea can help you to reduce bloating.”

She told Express.co.uk there could be other factors in dieters lifestyles which are causing their waistline to expand.

Cecilia explained slimmers need to focus on being healthy in every area of their life to get a flat stomach.

She said: “You need to ask yourself why you are bloated. It is necessary to have a look into that.

“It can just be you have too much stress in your life or you’re not sleeping enough.”

A lack of sleep or too much stress can the midriff to grow, but eating healthily can help cut weight from the whole body.

The trainer also revealed there are lots of different diet plans on the market, and some will work better than others. 

Her celebrity client, Lucy Mecklenburgh, revealed making one change at a time can keep slimmers motivated on their weight loss journey.
