Line of Duty season 5 spoilers: Who is the fourth Caddy? Is Kate the fourth Dot?

Line of Duty fans were left stunned by the season five finale on Sunday, May 5 when it was revealed the clues leading to the elusive villain H were actually pointing towards a fourth caddy or fourth H. DS Steve Arnott (played by Martin Compston) spotted a piece of missed information in Matthew Cottan’s (Craig Parkinson) dying declaration where he hints that there are in fact four corrupt police officers embedded in the Central Police Officers via morse code with his hand. Here are all the clues and hints as to who the fourth corrupt official could be and whether or not the final caddy/H will be revealed as DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure).

Who is the fourth Caddy/H in Line of Duty?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Line of Duty season 5.

Line of Duty’s fourth criminal officer and member of the corrupt organisation remains shrouded in mystery.

Gill Biggeloe (Polly Walker) was thought to be H following Steve Arnott and Kate Fleming’s private investigation of their boss Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).

Kate and Steve both entered AC-3’s interrogation of Ted to provide the evidence indicting Gill with the OCG.

H/Gill was later revealed to be one of four caddies for the corrupt organisation, along with Dot Cottan, Derek Hilton (Paul Higgins), and another mystery person.

The identity of the fourth caddy/H is still unknown but some fans think Kate Fleming could be the missing link.

WHERE IS LINE OF DUTY FILMED?

Shortly after the episode aired, Line of Duty viewers flocked to Twitter convinced McClure’s character is the fourth missing H.

One Line of Duty fan wrote: “#LineOfDuty It’s gonna be Kate as H in series six.”

A second retweeted a clip of Kate from BBC One with the caption: “This ALMOST convinced me that Kate isn’t H.”

While a third echoed: “It is Kate. Who else could it be at this point? Unless it actually is Hastings.”

Other potential culprits for the fourth dot/caddy range from Hastings to DDC Andrea Wise (Elizabeth Rider).

Fans will be waiting a while to find out exactly who it is though, as creator Jed Mercurio recently revealed he hasn’t started writing season six yet.

DOES AC-12 REALLY EXIST?

On Twitter, responding to an article suggesting Line of Duty was renewed for two more seasons, Mercurio said: “I’m not writing S6 let alone S7.”

However, the BBC One official Twitter account confirmed season six will be on its way at some point in the future.

Line of Duty fans had to wait two years for season five to drop.

If season six and Mercurio follow a similar timeframe, fans may have to wait until 2021.

IS LINE OF DUTY BASED ON FACTS?

McClure, Compston, and Dunbar will all likely return to lead the Line of Duty cast in season six.

Aiysha Hart as Sam Railston and Gregory Piper as Ryan Pilkington could also make comebacks.

There may be returns for other Line of Duty cast members such as Rochenda Sandall as Lisa McQueen, Anna Maxwell Martin as DCS Patricia Carmichael, and Elizabeth Rider.

Whether the fourth caddy will be revealed in season six is yet to be seen.

Line of Duty seasons 1-5 are available to watch online now on BBC iPlayer.
