Did Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey TROLL Gunners during teary Emirates interview? Fan theory

Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brighton on Sunday means that their chances of qualifying for the Champions League through league position are all but over.

They will have to beat Burnley on the final day, hope Tottenham lose to Everton and depend on an eight-goal swing to qualify.

As the Brighton stalemate was the final Premier League game of the season at the Emirates, the club chose to honour their departing stars at full-time, with Petr Cech and Danny Welbeck also given a farewell alongside Ramsey.

However, it was Ramsey’s speech that grabbed the attention of fans, and one particular comment regarding his imminent move to Juventus has raised eyebrows.

“You know, I am going to be going to a club in the Champions League,” a teary-eyed Ramsey said, before shooting a cheeky grin at the interviewer.

A Tottenham fan accused Ramsey of sticking the boot into Arsenal by highlighting Juventus will be playing in Europe’s elite club competition.

“No need to kick them when they are down, Aaron,” they wrote on Twitter.

Wales international Ramsey joined Arsenal from Cardiff back in 2008 at the age of 17.

The 28-year-old has gone on to 369 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners and shocked fans by failing to sign a new contract before agreeing terms with Juventus ahead of his summer switch.

“It’s been a pretty emotional day. It’s 11 years of my life that I have spent here and so much has happened to me on and off the field,” Ramsey told Arsenal’s website.

“I have really grown up here. I am just grateful for the opportunity to play for this club for such a long time.

“I’ve met so many great people here, made great friends and Arsene [Wenger] bringing me to the club and giving me that opportunity was pretty special.

“To last this long, at a club like this, is something in itself.

“That doesn’t happen very often anymore, that’s why it’s so emotional and why the bond is so strong.”

Unai Emery’s still have a chance of facing off against Ramsey’s Juventus in next season’s Champions League if they can win the Europa League.

The Welshman continued: ”I just want to say thank you very much for all the fans’ support over the years.

“There has been a few lows but lots of highs and the bond has been so strong because I have been here for such a long time and they have been with me through thick and thin, watching me go from a boy to man.”
