Matt Baker: Countryfile host's 'incredible' admission about wife Nicola amid health reveal

Countryfile presenter, Matt Baker, 41, married his childhood sweetheart, Nicola Mooney in 2004 and the presenter recently took the opportunity to gush over his wife of 15 years. During an episode of BBC’s The One Show, the host was joined by his co-host Angelica Bell, 43, and their guest, Line of Duty star Stephen Graham. The trio discussed how the British actor goes about choosing the right roles, when he revealed he has “slight dyslexia”, so his wife Hannah tends to read his scripts for him first. Angelica turned to Matt and asked: “Because your dyslexic aren’t you?”

The BBC favourite nodded before he spilled his wife Nicola also does the exact same for him.

Matt replied: “Yes. My wife does the same for me. They’re incredibly helpful.”

Dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that can cause problems with reading, writing and spelling.

It’s estimated up to 1 in every 10 people in the UK has some degree of the condition, according to the NHS website.

Matt met his wife Nicola before he moved down to London for his presenting job on Blue Peter and the couple share two children together, son Luke and daughter Molly.

He recently opened up about his wife to the Radio Times, saying she is “everything” to him.

He said: “I have a very patient wife. Nicola is very supportive and understanding.”

“She is everything to me. I couldn’t have done any of this without her.”

He continued: “She makes sure there is everything I want when I get home and she’s a fantastic mother. I really owe her so much.”

Meanwhile, the Countryfile presenter recently revealed his naughtiest moment while working on the show.

In a candid interview, with I News, was asked about his naughty antics on the programme, where he replied: “Oh, I don’t know.”

The small-screen star was then asked if his naughtiest moment could’ve been running through a wheat field, in reference to Theresa May’s previous revelation.

“It’s hard not to run through a wheat field where I’m from,” he admitted.

He also told the publication his reasoning behind moving his family to the countryside.

He said: “I don’t like to be pushed along. I like nature to set my tempo.”

Countryfile airs tonight on BBC One at 6pm.
