Fortnite season 9 teaser 1 COUNTDOWN: When is season 9 teaser out? What will it show?

Fortnite season 9 teaser 1 looks set to be revealed by Epic Games soon.

Historically, the Fortnite makers have revealed teasers for a new Battle Pass three full days before its release date.

It had been thought that Fortnite season 9 would have a release date of Thursday May 9.

Ever since the launch of season 5 of Fortnite new Battle Royale seasons have been dropping on a Thursday.

And an in-game countdown had indicated that this would be the case again with it looking like the final full day of season 8 was Wednesday May 8.

But now a new blog post from Epic Games has made it seem like Fortnite season 9 will in fact have a release date earlier than anticipated.

The blog from Epic makes it seem like Fortnite season 9 will have a release date of Wednesday May 8.

The post is about the end date of the account merge feature, and in it the Fortnite season 9 release date is mentioned.

It says: “We wanted to give everyone a heads up that the Account Merge feature will be coming to an end on May 6, two days before Season 9 begins”.

As we mentioned before, new Fortnite season teasers have historically dropped three full days before a new Battle Pass’s release date.

So when Fortnite seasons were launching on a Thursday, teasers started dropping on a Monday.

If Fortnite season 9 is launching this coming Wednesday, that would mean the first Fortnite season 9 teaser could drop today – Sunday May 5.

In the past Fortnite season teasers used to drop like clockwork at 3pm UK time.

But this has been changed up with recent seasons, with the Fortnite season 8 teasers dropping at 4pm UK time.

And the Fortnite season 7 teasers were published at a variety of different times.

So, if the first Fortnite season 9 teaser is revealed today it could appear on the Fortnite Twitter from 3pm UK time onwards.

It’s widely rumoured that Fortnite season 9 could see a brand new map introduced for Battle Royale.

Maybe the first Fortnite season 9 teaser will hint at this, potentially showing the Volcano that levelled two POIs recently?

This weekend the Fortnite season 8 Unvaulting event occur, which saw players choose an item to unvault after being transported to The Gateway.

When players returned to the world of Fortnite Battle Royale the volcano finally erupted and destroyed Retail Row and Tilted Towers.

Maybe the first Fortnite season 9 teaser will hint that the volcano isn’t quite done, and another catastrophic eruption is on the cards?
