SPOTIFY DOWN
Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services in the world.
But this afternoon users of the programme have reported problems with it.
The issue appears to be affecting those using Spotify on their smartphones.
Multiple fans have posted an image of the app not working when they are trying to stream music.
Instead of allowing users to play tracks as normal, the programme is presenting some with a message that reads “something went wrong”.
Independent outage monitor Downdetector has registered over 300 reports at one time from users on its UK site insisting Spotify is experiencing problems.
Additionally, Downdetectors US page has tallied over 600 reports in a single instance.
In response to the outage, myriad fans of the music streaming service have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment.
One said: “I think Spotify is down.
“What am I supposed to listen to now? Nature? A fan? My own thoughts?”
A second declared: “Today ain’t the day for Spotify to be down!”
Another wrote: “Spotify down on a new music Friday!?!?”
Spotify has acknowledged the problem with its service and has said it is investigating.
It is unclear when Spotify will be back up and running.
