Kevin Durant: NBA stars all believe Warriors star needs to leave Warriors – Enes Kanter

Durant’s future remains a hot topic in the NBA and it’s clear that the gossip has spread into the locker rooms around the league.

That’s according to Enes Kanter, who was a team-mate of Durant’s for 18 months while at the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Durant joined the Warriors back in 2016, causing uproar around the league with the strongest team in the NBA seemingly becoming unbeatable.

He then helped lead them to two consecutive titles and will be aiming for a third this postseason.

But what he does beyond that remains a mystery, with contrasting reports on where he may choose to go.

One thing that has been consistently reported though is that he is expected to leave Golden State.

He has been challenged to find a new team where can become the franchise player, with the New York Knicks heavily linked.

And Kanter reports the overall consensus among NBA players is that Durant needs to move to improve his legacy in the game.

“I was in a locker room and that was all the talk [Durant needing to leave the Warriors],” he said on Fox Sports radio.

“I understand that they won a championship without you.

“So you go there and win another championship it’s amazing. You win two Finals MVPs it’s amazing.

“But I feel like he needs to write his own story, he needs to go somewhere and start over and win a championship.

“Then people will be like, ‘you know what, he did it’.

“You win a championship in Golden State, everyone says it’s amazing but… that’s what almost the whole league is saying.

“I think if he goes to a big market like New York and if he wins a championship then he will definitely will be a top five player of all-time.”
