Brad Pitt's pricey gesture to ex Jennifer Aniston 'revealed' after 'divorce heartache'

Brad Pitt, 55, and Jennifer Aniston, 50, tied the knot in 2000 before divorcing five years later. The actor famously moved on with Angelina Jolie, 43, but the pair divorced after two years of marriage in 2016. Back in February, Brad reunited with Jennifer at her 50th birthday celebrations amongst a host of other A-List stars. According to reports, to celebrate his ex-wife’s milestone birthday, he is set to buy their previously shared marital home.

In 2001, the former couple reportedly bought a four-bedroomed home in Beverley Hills which included heated marble floors in the kitchen, a swimming pool, tennis courts and a pub room with wooden floors.

Brad reportedly saw their old property on the market and contacted the estate agent immediately to put in an offer.

Jennifer is said to have been left in tears by Brad’s kind gesture after the pair reportedly reminisced over their shared home.

A source told New Idea: “Brad wants to make a gesture to Jen that would go beyond her wildest dreams, so when their old home came up for sale, he knew that would be the purchase to make all her dreams come true.”

The insider went on to say with Jennifer losing her home with Brad, it “worsened the heartache of their divorce”.

They added not buying Brad out at the time is one of her “biggest regrets”.

Elsewhere, The Sun previously claimed Brad and Jen wanted to prove to everyone they are on “good terms” at her birthday party.

A source reportedly told the publication: “Brad and Jen have stayed friends for a long time, but it was awkward for them to meet up when he was with Angelina and because no-one saw them together, people assumed they weren’t friends. They are.

“They want everyone – all of their A-list mates and their exes – to know they’re on good terms and friendly.”

Elsewhere, Jennifer split from her second husband Justin Theroux, 47, last year.

The pair first met on the set of Tropic Thunder in 2007 and got engaged five years later.

After two years of marriage, the actors confirmed their split in a statement.

A lengthy statement obtained by Associated Press read: “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation.

“This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.

“We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
