Avengers: Endgame promised fans a satisfying emotional conclusion to 10 years of storytelling. What fans received was three hours of bittersweet moments of fan service, garnering Marvel a massive amount at the box office. The talent behind the film have begun to give interviews full of spoilers, including a little hint at which character actually saved the universe. WARNING SPOILERS BELOW.
Which character really saved the Universe?
Tony Stark is being given a lot of props for using the Infinity Stones to defeat Thanos and sacrifice himself in the process.
Now, none other than the Russo brothers themselves claimed another character is really responsible for saving the universe.
The mouse in Ant-Man’s van in the storage unit is the real hero.
Speaking to Chinese language site QQ, the Russo brothers said: “Yes, the mouse saved the universe!

“Among the many realities in those 14 million possible futures Doctor Strange foresaw, the mouse failed to press the button and thus the heroes failed in those futures.”

Fans have of course taken to Twitter to express delight, confusion, and general amusement at the plot moment.
One user wrote: “All the events of endgame really did happen because of a rat.”

Another posted a picture of a rat with the caption: “And give this rat a shield.”
One dedicated fan even created a poster for the rat in the Endgame character style with the words “You Gave Us Hope.”
