The FOUR Ajax stars that will give Tottenham BIG problems in Champions League – Burley

That is according to ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.

Tottenham face Ajax in their first ever Champions League semi-final on Tuesday evening.

The first leg takes place in north London, with the hosts without several key players.

Harry Kane will miss both legs due to an ankle injury, as will England team-mate Harry Winks.

Son Heung-min is out of the Tuesday’s match through suspension, with Moussa Sissoko a doubt.

Ajax have pulled off two upsets in the knockout stage so far, dumping out reigning champions Real Madrid and tournament favourites Juventus.

Despite poor performances from Real and Juve, Burley is taking nothing away from Ajax.

And he says the foursome of Dusan Tadic, Hakim Ziyech, Donny Van de Beek and Barcelona-bound Frenkie de Jong could cause Tottenham problems.

“The absence of Son is massive for them because of the pace with him and Lucas Moura in behind,” Burley said.

“It’s still a very good side, however this is such a difficult tie to call because Ajax are a fantastically, talented [team].

“A mixture of youth, experience, playmakers, and they’ve proven that and they’ve proven that on the road more importantly. They proved it in Madrid and they proved it in Turin.

“I fancy Spurs being at home to get a result. But I don’t necessarily fancy them to go through over the two legs. It’s a difficult one.

“You’re talking about being tactically sound when Max Allegri pulled one over [Mauricio] Pochettino the season before, tactically.

“Okay, Juventus didn’t have their best night.

“However, to say that they were only tactically naive, Ajax exploited them, that’s what I would say and they can exploit this Tottenham side.

“It’s a 50-50 call in my opinion, it really is.

“If Tottenham cannot shut down the Ajax playmakers – Tadic, Ziyech, Van de Beek, people like that, Frenkie de Jong – if they can’t stop them, if they’ve got space to operate, then they’re going to have big problems.”
