James Bond: Piers Morgan SLAMS Daniel Craig’s support for female 007 after Bond 25

Bond 25, Daniel Craig’s fifth and final James Bond movie, is currently shooting in Jamaica. But after the film’s release in a year’s time fans will be speculating over who should replace Craig in the inevitable reboot. Well, now the 51-year-old star has given his support for a female Bond, saying anyone should be able to audition regardless of their race or gender. Craig told The Mirror: “I think that everybody should be considered.”

Morgan continued: “James Bond was written as a man. James Bond should remain a man.

“James Bond is a towering monument of masculinity so why would anyone in the entire world, least of all women who all secretly fantasise about James Bond, now want him to become a woman?”

Morgan also claimed Phoebe Waller-Bridge was chosen by Craig to work on the Bond 25 script to make it more “woke” for a Me Too Movement era.

The host fears that the Fleabag creator’s involvement will mean that Bond “won’t be about hit on women anymore” and Bond girls will be referred to as “Bond people.” He asked: “Why would you ruin a franchise?”

Well despite Craig’s opinion, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has asserted that 007 will always be male.

At the Bond 25 press event in Jamaica, she said: “I’m very much interested in making films about women, created for women; and not doing some sort of stunt casting by turning Bond into a woman.”

However, Broccoli said the door “would be wide open” for non-white male actors to play Bond in the future.

Bond 25 is released in UK cinemas on April 3, 2020.
