EE deals end TODAY as customers set for one of the biggest upgrades in years

EE’s latest cost-cutting deals are coming to an end later today with the mobile network confirming on its website that the offers end at midnight (April 30).

The current SIM-only contracts offer some decent data allowances at a reduced price with a number of different plans available.

The sale includes 20GB for £20 per month, 40GB for £25 per month or 60GB for £30 per month.

All of these deals also include unlimited calls and texts plus there’s the option to get free access to Apple Music for six months, BT Sport for three months or Amazon Prime Video for six months.

Along with these price cuts, EE has recently revealed more news about its radical plans for the rest of 2019 which includes one of its biggest updates ever.

5G is the next generation of mobile network which will bring much faster speeds and a more reliable signal to customers.

This new technology is expected to take things to a new level with average speeds likely to exceed 100Mbps.

It’s also possible that some users could experience speeds nearing 1Gbps with an HD movie downloading in under 40 seconds.

EE had already made a big commitment to 5G last year announcing it would be switching this signal on in 16 cities across the UK in 2019.

Now it seems that launch could be getting closer with a possible switch on date coming in mid-June.

EE recently announced that it will be bringing 5G to the Glastonbury Festival for the very first time with those attending this music event able to give it a try.

And following that announcement its social channels have been teasing fans with snippets of news.

One message on Twitter said: “We’re aiming to launch 5G just before Glastonbury, then switching on more 5G sites in more cities from summer onwards.

And another post also revealed that some new 5G-ready devices will also launch soon with EE saying: “We’re working with our partners to bring you devices that support the latest network technology just before the festival season begins.”

There’s no official confirmation from EE about when an actual 5G launch will come with a spokesperson from the network telling Express.co.uk: “As the UK’s biggest and fastest mobile network, we plan to launch 5G in the UK this summer, with the first launch cities to include London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, Birmingham and Manchester.

“We have yet to confirm our official launch date which will be revealed nearer the time. To sign up for the latest 5G information from EE, please register at www.ee.co.uk/5g ”
