And their contracts were supposedly on the agenda. United want to tie De Gea down but are reluctant to grant him pay parity with Alexis Sanchez.

13:25 UPDATE: Carragher on Pogba exit

Jamie Carragher reckons Paul Pogba should be the first man out the door at United this summer.

“The immediate concern for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not who Manchester United should buy to rebuild the club. It is who they sell,” Carragher wrote in his Telegraph column.

“There would be one name on the top of my list. Paul Pogba.

“If Real Madrid have £100 million and Zinedine Zidane wants him, United can solve the first of many problems as their long reconstruction gets underway.”

“He was a brilliant performer, then you say to yourself he always looks tired after one or two big runs.

“He’s a big decision. I’ve got very little sympathy for anyone who’s unfit as a professional footballer.”

09:25 UPDATE: Salah plea

Liverpool can stop Mo Salah from joining Real Madrid or Barcelona by winning silverware, Luis Garcia claims.

“If Liverpool win trophies then I think it will be much easier for the club to keep Mo Salah,” he told the Mirror.

“We know that Barcelona and Real Madrid will be in the market for the best players in the summer.

“And if you talk about the best players in the world right now then Mo Salah must be included.

“At this moment, though, I think Liverpool are a different club than what they were.

“Last year they reached the Champions League final. This time they are challenging for the Premier League and the Champions League.

“They are now a club with the potential to win the big trophies.”

“I think in the next season he will be able to score a lot.”

Asked whether he will be at the club for 2019-20, Sarri replied: “I don’t know, I’m not in charge of the market so I cannot answer these questions. In theory, yes.”

Arsenal should sell Mesut Ozil this summer as it would allow them to bring in FOUR players, former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell claims.

“I don’t think he can contribute enough to Arsenal. With the set-up and the way the Premier League is going, I don’t think he does enough.

“Is he a wonderfully gifted player? Of course he is. But the way his talent is going, he doesn’t do enough for me.

“On his wage, that could bring in four players. And it might be four versatile players.
