Warriors vs Rockets: NBA fans LIVID with referees over clear fouls not given

There was plenty of anticipation ahead of Game 1 in the Rockets/ Warriors series in the Western Conference semifinals.

It’s a repeat of the closely fought Western Conference Finals last year, with many people expecting the series to go to a Game 7 again.

The Oracle Arena was loud from the offset with the home crowd getting behind their team.

But that quickly turned to the Rockets bench and players turning up the noise, aiming their frustration at the referees.

There were a number of occasions in the first half when James Harden took a contested three with Klay Thompson seemingly falling in his landing area.

No foul calls were given and they quickly built up with Chris Paul connecting with a three over the top of Shaun Livingston with the Warriors star again hitting his opponent, only for no foul to be given.

The Rockets star reacted furiously to the no-call, as did Mike D’Antoni with both getting called for a technical foul.

And Houston fans were equally furious with the officiating with the lack of foul calls.

One fan tweeted: “Open your eyes refs! Warriors are fouling.”

Another posted: “Not a Rocket fan but these refs are horrible.”

A third said: “The Rockets getting FOULED by GSW, while the ref calls the Rockets for a tech for complaining about being fouled.”

A fourth read: “The Rockets have to be mentally strong. The refs aren’t doing their jobs.”
