8.40pm: Who did Virgil van Dijk and Raheem Sterling vote for? I hear you, I hear you. You’d think it’d take a historic journalistic scoop to discover the answer, but it turns out they both just said. So yeah, here are the answers.

Van Dijk: Sterling (!!!)

“All the players in the league are voting and I’m not going to vote tactically. That’s not who I am. I just want to vote for who I think has had a fantastic season.

“I think that a lot of players from the Man City team I could have vote for and I think that there’s a lot of players on our team who they could vote for as well. I think he has improved a lot as a player and he’s up there.”

Sterling: Harry Kane (???)

“I actually can’t remember. I think I voted for Harry Kane. I think I done mine a while back. When did I do mine? Was it two weeks ago? Yeah, about two weeks ago.”

8pm: GOOD EVENING… And welcome to the hottest, acronym-packed awards show in town.

Tonight we will discover who our beloved Premier League stars have deemed the best kicker of a leather sphere among them – and who’s good at it for a young age.

The man under the microscope – Virgil van Dijk – is favourite to win the top gong this evening, although Raheem Sterling, who won with City at Burnley earlier today, is breathing down his neck.

“Ahh, they should award it at the end of the season when we know who’s won the league!!!” Yeah yeah yeah, well it’s on now. So let’s get rolling. Buckle in, we’re gonna have some fun.
