Carol Vorderman Twitter: 'Nearly blew off' Countdown star reveals dangerous hike in storm

Carol Vorderman, 58, battled dangerous weather conditions during a hike as a result of Storm Hannah, which battered parts of the UK yesterday with winds of more than 80mph. The former Countdown host informed her 400,000 Twitter followers about her tough experience as she scaled the hills in Exmoor National Park. While sharing a gallery of picturesque snaps from her trip, she wrote: “More than a bit blowy today… “That #Hannah nearly blew me off my feet a few times #Exmoor…

“Climb up was worth it… just look at that view.

In the photos, Carol posed in front of a stunning coastal backdrop, dressed in practical hiking gear.

The glamorous star protected herself from the chill in a cosy black puffer jacket, paired with matching skin-tight leggings.

She accessorised with a floppy sunhat and mirrored shades, completing the look with a pair of comfortable black and electric blue trainers.

The presenter’s fans flocked to the comments section of the tweet to share their thoughts on her climbing adventure.

One particularly cheeky admirer replied: “The scenery behind you isn’t too bad either!”

Another quipped about the storm: “She gave me a few free flying lessons Carol! That Hannah!”

A third joked: “Were the bottom 2 photos taken by someone else after Storm Hannah blew you over the edge?”

A fourth wrote: “Stunning up there but you were brave today, that wind was very gusty and bitter!”

A fifth agreed: “Well worth fighting the weather for amazing photos like those. Fantastic views.”

Elsewhere, the Countdown icon called upon BBC Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, 56, for some assistance when she dealt with a sleepless night due to the storm.

Carol addressed the Scottish meteorological expert as she tweeted: “Weather update… your wind kept me up a lot last night @carolkirkwood

“Can you please tell #Hannah to calm down a little later… A girl needs her kip…well this one does anyway! #NorthDevonCoast”

In spite of the perilous breezes, the TV personality took to Twitter again today to reflect on how much she enjoyed her trip.

Alongside further scenic snaps, she gushed: “Thank you to everyone who works and protects our 15 glorious National Parks ⁦@uknationalparks

#Exmoor Pics….their majesty moves me to tears.

“Their geological history makes us realise just how momentary, insignificant and blessed OUR time on earth is…”
