Stacey Dooley, 32, and Kevin Clifton, 36, are said to have reunited at a Premier Inn hotel after spending some time apart while the documentary filmmaker travelled to Mexico for her series with BBC Three. The 2018 winner of Strictly Come Dancing returned to the UK to support her former dance partner Kevin in his show, Burn The Floor. The rumoured couple then appeared to confirm their romance by posting matching snaps backstage together on Instagram. Stacey and Kevin were pictured embracing in front of a brick wall as they beamed with delight.
The ballroom and latin champion’s arm was draped around the presenter’s shoulders as she reached up to hold his hand.
Following this cosy display, Stacey was reportedly spotted leaving a budget hotel the next morning and getting into a taxi.
According to The Sun, Kevin then allegedly emerged from the same Peterborough based Premier Inn later, engaging in conversation with a friend as he made his exit.
The Strictly stars have kept relatively quiet about their relationship after Stacey’s ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott made explosive claims to The Mail On Sunday that the two had become an item following their split.
Kevin recently addressed the news as he candidly spoke to audiences at the opening night of Burn The Floor.
The Daily Mirror reported that the dancer told the crowd: “In the last couple of years I’ve seen massive upheaval in my personal life and it hasn’t always been easy.
“There have been a lot of things thrown at me. At times I’ve struggled. And the times I’ve struggled and I was in a bit of a rut I didn’t know what to do.”
The performer also explained he is not the best at “dealing with” negative stories about his personal life and took the opportunity to thank his tour producers for bringing him back to a place where things “felt right” again.
Stacey on the other hand broke her silence about Sam’s comments in a post to her 289,000 Twitter followers earlier this month.
She wrote: “Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are 2 sides to every story.
“I haven’t got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I’ve read on here.
“Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward.”
Kevin first showed his admiration for Stacey after they victoriously lifted Strictly’s glitter ball trophy together last December.
The Grimsby native gushed at the time: “Thanks to Miss Stacey Dooley, I can finally say I’m the Strictly champion after six years of trying. It’s a miracle.”
Kevin hit headlines last year when he announced his separation from his ex-wife Karen Clifton, 37, who he married in July 2015.
The dancers confirmed their split in March 2018, but they continued to maintain a friendship as they worked together on the BBC show.
Karen is currently dating opera singer David Webb and she is yet to comment on her ex-husband’s alleged new romance with Stacey.
