Saturday Kitchen: ‘I predict trouble’ Viewers have meltdown over chef’s chopping technique

Pam Brunton was one of today’s guest chefs on Saturday Kitchen and showed Matt Tebbutt how to make a delicious grilled squid dish.

As she prepared her ingredients, the Scottish chef was full of beans this morning and was providing lots of entertainment for BBC viewers.

Pam had to use a mandolin slicer, which is notoriously sharp, to get the correct texture and thickness for her mushrooms.

However, she also wanted to chat to Matt and it seemed she didn’t always have her eye on the blade.

Thankfully, Pam is an expert and she managed to keep her fingers in tact to complete the delicious dish.

However, viewers were worried for her throughout the cringe-inducing scene and flocked to Twitter.

Begging her to be careful, one wrote: “Please be careful with that mandoline. No guard.”

Another added: “No guard in use and not even looking.”

A third shared: “Scary mandoline technique.”

A fourth commented: “If [she] doesn’t keep her eye on things when she uses that mandoline I predict trouble.”

Bill Bailey was today’s guest and was up against either food heaven or food hell.

The comedian wanted to eat some delicious monk fish but fans had to decide if they would grant his wish or deliver him his worst food, salmon.

Nevertheless, viewers were loving him on Saturday Kitchen as they shared their praise on Twitter.

One said: “Loving the Bill Bailey banter.”

“Bill Bailey actually making me laugh out loud this morning – a great guest,” added a second.
