Melania Trump dazzles in white lacy dress as she celebrates her 49th birthday

Melania Trump was photographed yesterday outside the White House in Washington, DC, USA yesterday. The First Lady and Donald Trump were hosting the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, and his wife Akie Abe for a dinner. The event also marked Melania’s 49th birthday – but the former model is said not to have minded shifting the focus from her celebration. “We’re celebrating our First Lady’s birthday. It’s her birthday. So I said to Melania: ‘Would you like to have Mr and Mrs Prime Minister and Mrs Abe join us for your birthday?’” Donald told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday afternoon, People magazine reported.

“And she said, ‘I can’t think of anybody I’d rather have.’“

For the dinner, Melania shone in a formal knee-length white dress with capped sleeves.

The fitted, elegant number featured an overlay of lace and emphasised her figure.

The President’s wife kept her legs and arms bare for the occasion.

She wore dark red, metallic pointed stilettos on her feet and her fingernails were painted a pale nude.

Melania steered clear of any extra accessories but rings could be seen on her hands.

The First Lady wore her hair in her trademark look of loose waves as she posed on a red carpet with her husband – who sported his traditional navy suit and a red tie – and the Abes.

The White House acknowledged Melania’s birthday white a bizarre choice of photo that rapidly became a viral meme.

It showed Melania sitting alone on a sofa, looking off to one side, while a large group of photographers crowded around taking photos of Donald Trump and the Czech prime minister, who are just out of shot. “Happy Birthday, @FLOTUS!” the post was captioned.

Donald Trump himself made no reference to Melania Trump’s birthday on his Twitter account.

He instead posted a quote calling him the “greatest hostage negotiator… in the history of the United States” along with other updates on his political prowess.

Earlier this week, Melania and Donald travelled to Atlanta, Georgia. The First Lady opted for a high neck polka dot white and black dress.

The dress featured a high neck and Melania matched the look with a pair of recycled black sunglasses. The Alessandra Rich design cost $2,300, or around £1,700.

Melania took inspiration from the 50s and she paired the classic dress with a chunky black snakeskin belt.

The loose dress had a long skirt with small pleats which could be seen as she walked alongside her husband at the White House.

She prepared for all weathers and she draped a cream coat over her shoulders. Melania completed the look with a pair of killer black heels.
